Rules To Play By for Our Role Play
Please read these rules and keep them in mind at all times when In our chat room on Sanguinem Draconis:
1> All chatters shall read and follow the Sanguinem Draconis' Acceptable Use Policy. Any violations will be cause for discipline from Staff as well as the incidents being logged and reported to Sanguinem Draconis' Admins, of which the owner of TFTDP is one.
2> No God Moding. That doesn't mean you cannot create powerful Characters, those are encouraged. But please bear in mind that truly powerful people have no need to flaunt it. If you have a Plot Line that is violent and threatens the life of another Character that is run by a Player other than yourself, then you are required to clear it with the Player. If you do not clear this Plot Line with the other Player and carry it forward anyway you will be subject to disciplinary action. I would also like to add that you should not make assumptions about other Players' Characters. If you think you know something, ask anyway. Its only courteous.
3> No Potterus Interuptus -- This is a zero tolerance policy. Put simply, we will not abide any room raid or disruptive flaming post type activity. From anyone. We've had enough to fill a star cruiser. It's a perma-bannable offense. The posts will need to be captured to back up the ban. Just to be sure you all read it, this is a zero tolerance policy. One flame and you're gone.
4> This room is officially rated 18+ under SanguinemDraconis.net's rating system, therefore the following will apply:
- Profanity is allowed as is graphic language.
- Sexual Dialogue is allowed. This includes flirting and suggestiveness in language or action as well as sex as part of a narrative integral to a storyline. There are no prohibited relationships with the exceptions of those prohibited by SanguinemDraconis.net's AUP. Please familiarize yourself with them.
- No Intimate Character Development (sex or nudity described in graphic terms between Characters) or cyber-sex (computer sex or nudity described in graphic terms between Players) please. Take it to a Private Room, Private Messages or an Instant Messenger. We are playing to the comfort level of those who frequent our room.
- Intense violent play is allowed, but if it is to be extremely
graphic be courteous and take it to a Private Room, Private Message
or Instant Messenger.
- Avatar Reserve: This Realm has an Avatar Reserve, listed here. Please check it out prior to posting. This Realm defines Avatar in the following manner: An Avatar is the person, real or drawn, in the picture you choose. Anything may be selected as an Avatar (model or anime), however please make it unique to your Character. Sharing is allowed, either with permission or when a person loses exclusive reserve by Defaulting.
- Defaulting: You must play in Realm at least five times a month on five different days to be considered an Active Player. Being an Active Player will keep your avatars reserved for you exclusively. If this quota is not met, you will be considered to be in Default. You WILL be able to keep your avatars, but they will be opened for another player to use as well. If this quota is missed due to some reason, like computer problems or sudden emergencies, please inform one of the hosts or mods via email, Forums or even phone call. Want Sandra's phone number? - Reserving Defaulted Avatars: This is done on a first-come first-serve basis only. To know if someone is in Default, look on the Avatar reserve, the name of the person will appear in black with the words (open) next to it.
- Pictures are to be no larger than 125 K in file size and 450 pixels on its longest side. No topless women. No women's nipples. No Genitalia. No total nudity. No sexual acts including masturbation. If you are in doubt, ask. Nameplates may be no larger than 300 pixels wide and 150 pixels long, 10K or less in file size. No animated pictures, please. If you need help resizing a picture for the chat room, AIM Sandra at Zisa Alyx.
5>Destruction of Setting. While it is possible to destroy a lot of property in the J.K. Rowling Universe, no post that states "I blow up Hogsmeade" will be recognized. A part of a Location may be destroyed as part of a Role Play but for courtesy toward other Players and to not drive the Staff into St. Mungo's the Locations listed on the Setting page may not be destroyed entirely.
6>Out Of Character (OOC): Talking OOC is perfectly fine. However we request you do it one of three ways.
- Use an OOC puppet when not speaking IC.
- Use Brackets when speaking OOC under a Character's puppet. Brackets such as (( )), || ||, {{ }} or [[ ]], or the like are fine as long as the Not-Meant-For-Play text is within any of those. We don't care which you chose, just chose one and use it.
- If your Character wishes to make a comment on a Play they are not involved with while the Play is in progress, they may do so, but again, the Not-Meant-For-Play text must be enclosed in Brackets. In addition to being inside brackets, please make the Character's speech differ from the Player's. Use of " ", or a second set of brackets to enclose the Character's speech is not just polite, it is also a rule.
7>IC (In Character) Fighting and Feuding is just that--In Character.
We are all here to play. It isn't play when Players snipe, abuse
or anything else about another Player or their Character. The same
goes for bashing our room or another room. A different mind from
yours made up that Character or Room, not everyone RPs in the same
style either, and different points of view are inevitable. If there
is a conflict between you and another player, please try to resolve
it yourselves in Private Message, Private Room or Instant Message.
If you wish a member of the Staff to be there to mediate, do not
hesitate to ask. This room is for mature minded Role Players. This
room is for those who Think. This Room is NOT for those who fight
OOC. If Players do not come to terms on their
own and are disruptive to the Role play in the room, Staff will
pull you into a mediation meeting and both parties will be subject
to the same disciplinary action. OOC conflicts will not be tolerated.
Period.
8>Official Complaints: Complaints against any Player is allowable, even if the chatter is also Staff. However, complaints against a Player or Staff must have the posts to back up what you say. We cannot discipline Players simply on another Player's say-so. We don't do that as Hosts and Co-Hosts. I expect my Players to adhere to this standard as well. The post extracts or text must be sent to zisaalyx@yahoo.com as either an attachment or cut and pasted into the body of the e-mail. If you complain about another Player and do not provide the back up posts, you will be subject to the following disciplinary actions:
- First Offense: Slap on the hand, don't do it again, remember this rule next time.
- Second Offense: Warning via IM or e-mail and via Warp1.net system. This will be seen by the admins of Sanguinem Draconis.
- Third Offense: Banning for one week with notification via e-mail.
- Fourth Offense: Banning for one month with notification via e-mail. This will be followed by a probation period of three months.
- Fifth Offense: Breaking the probation period or breaking the rule for a fifth time earns you a permanent ban from Tales From The Daily Prophet.
9>These web pages, their design and content, are, with the exception of copyrighted materials/intellectual property that belongs to the J.K. Rowling universe, owned outright by the Staff of Tales From The Daily Prophet. The web site shall be built and maintained by Staff. It is never to be given to a third party for design or updates. I repeat, it will be designed, built, updated and maintained and owned by the Staff. This web site will never be taken down without a replacement being uploaded. If the web site is down for any reason Staff shall alert the Players via Message Board.
10>All Players must have a Character Sheet for each Character that is played in the room within two weeks of said Character's creation. This is a simple .TXT file that, when you are finished, can be uploaded and brought to the attention of the Staff. You need to keep your Character sheet and tweak it every once in a while to reflect the growth of your Character's skills.
11>Discipline. It is the right of all Staff members to hand out Discipline when either Sanguinem Draconis.net's Acceptable Use Policy or the rules for Tales From The Daily Prophet have been violated.
First Offense: Verbal Warning
This will be done either via PM or IM and Staff will save the warning time and date. A simple apology to be more careful in future will suffice in this case. The warning will include posts of what the offending behavior was and what rule it breaks will be provided by the Staff.
Second Offense: Email Warning and One Week Suspension
This will be a more official warning and will carry the penalty of a One Week Suspension from the Tales From The Daily Prophet chatroom. The date and time the Suspension is being imposed and the date it will be lifted are to be noted in the email. The warning will include posts of what the offending behavior was and what rule it breaks will be provided by the Staff.
Third Offense: Email Notice of One Month Suspension
If we have to deal with you a third time for the same reason, a Suspension of one month will be imposed from the Tales From The Daily Prophet chatroom. The date and time the Suspension as being imposed and the date it will be lifted are to be noted in the email. The Email will include posts of what the offending behavior was and what rule it breaks will be provided by the Staff. When all this Suspension is lifted, the Player is free to return, but will be on three month Probation. A break in the same rule a fourth time during Probation will result in a Permanent Ban from Tales From The Daily Prophet.
Probation
When Probation is given out you will receive an Email informing you the date and time the Probation are being imposed and the date and time it will be lifted. The Email will include posts of what the offending behavior had been and what rule(s) had been broken. A break of the same rule during Probation will result in a Permanent Ban from Tales From The Daily Prophet.
Appeals
Letters of explanations will be accepted by Staff and will be considered during all of the phases of any Disciplinary Action.
